I was an “early adopter” of Rolling Stone magazine. I can’t remember how I discovered it, but it appealed to my interest in music and people. It still keeps me young and current.
Fong-Torres was senior editor at Rolling Stone, almost from its beginning. Among others, he interviewed Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Steve Martin, Linda Ronstadt, Marvin Gay, Sly and the Family Stone, Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles, and Rodney Dangerfield.
As well as being a dynamite writer, Fong-Torres seems like a solid human being who has a very interesting life story, led a rich life, and didn’t succumb to becoming one of the glitterati.
