Business: AI’s here, AI’s there, AI’s everywhere.  So, beware.

Part 1.  Attention senior leaders.

If your organization isn’t already all over experimenting, adopting, and scaling AI, you will soon be a zombie.  What are your competitors doing with AI?  How are new entrants likely to disrupt your industry?  I get a monthly highlights newsletter from McKinsey & Company, one of the big gun management consulting outfits.  December’s had 7 articles.  5 of them were about AI.

Here’s a current look at the battlefield:

Part 2.  Attention women (well, really everyone).

Can you afford to not invest 40 hours and $100 in learning GenAI?  And not starting to use GenAI every day at work?  And not raising your hand to volunteer for GenAI pilots / experiments in your organization?

From my personal experience, on-line courses are cheap (zero to <$100) and each takes about 8 hours.  I’ve taken about 10 but think you can get started with just 2:  one on GenAI fundamentals and one that is function specific (e.g., Finance, Logistics, Marketing, HR, etc.).   I used courses from the University of Maryland Smith School of Business and Harvard Business School’s Digital Data Design Institute.

This is an opportunity … NOW, not tomorrow … for you to differentiate yourself by being on the leading edge of something that will be a fundamental skill sooner rather than later.  I bet GenAI will help you do some of your work faster and better.  Doing more work, better is always helpful in getting ahead and earning more.

PS.  Sorry if this comes across as preaching.  My heart is pure; I’m trying to help.
